St Anne’s Parish Youth, Agonda (SAPYA), organised an inter-ward football tournament featuring competitions in the altar servers, girls’, men’s and women’s categories.
The ward-wise tournament featured 7-a-side football for altar servers boys, a 5-a-side tie-breaker for girls, 6-a-side football for men and a 5-a-side tie-breaker for women.
Karashimoll A emerged champions in the Altar Servers category after defeating Miranda Vaddo, while Karashimoll A also clinched the girls’ title with a victory over Karashimoll B.
Prithesh Mirashi was adjudged First Scorer of the Final, while Brenan Rodrigues was named Player of the Tournament. Krishna Hembram won the Best Goalkeeper award and Travis Fernandes was adjudged Best Defender. Edgar Fernandes finished as the tournament’s Top Scorer.
A special highlight of the tournament was the participation of a team comprising priests for the first time.
