Lawyer Challengers produced a dominant batting performance to defeat Legal Titans by 48 runs, while Lotlikar Lions edged past Risers in a close finish in the Advocates Cricket League matches played at the Chicalim Ground, Vasco.
Batting first, Lawyer Challengers posted an imposing 206 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Achit Shigwan top-scored with a fluent 74, well supported by Vrusaj Talaulikar, who struck an aggressive 69. Dattaprasad Shirodkar added a useful 33 as the Challengers capitalised with 22 runs in extras. For Legal Titans, Prasad Vaigankar (1/27), Jeevan Divkar (1/25), and Satchit Mauskar (1/45) were among the wicket-takers.
In reply, Legal Titans were restricted to 158 for 9 in 20 overs despite fighting knocks from Satchit Mauskar (34), Pravin Gawas (25), Kyle Ticlo (22), and Kanhaiya (22). Achit Shigvan starred with the ball as well, picking up 2 for 23, while Iftikhar Agha (2/35) and Harsh Mashelkar (2/22) provided solid support as Lawyer Challengers sealed a convincing victory.
In the second match, Lotlikar Lions chased down the target in the final over to register a narrow win against Risers. Risers, batting first, managed 162 for 9 in 20 overs with Dattaraj Arondekar (44), Abhinav Marathe (34) and Rohit Dessai (30) making valuable contributions. Vaibhav Bandekar delivered an outstanding bowling spell, claiming 5 wickets for 32 runs, while Kunal Naik Gaonkar, Pankaj Naik, and Gajanan Korgaonkar chipped in with a wicket each.
Lotlikar Lions responded with a composed chase, reaching 163 for 6 in 19.5 overs. Sandeep D'Melo anchored the innings with a match-winning 51, supported by Pankaj Naik (33) and Venkatesh Rathod (16). For Risers, Pritesh Shetty (2/18) and Harsh Parekh (2/32) tried to stem the flow, but the Lions held their nerve to clinch the contest.
The six hit by Gajanan Korgaonkar off the bowling of Abhishek Dhawaskar at a crucial moment in the final over proved decisive.
