The Goa Medical College & Hospitals (GMC) successfully hosted the 5th edition of its Inter-Departmental Football League Tournament 2025, along with a Tiebreaker event for women, at the GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim.
Founded in 2019 by Prof. Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, Dean of GMC, the tournament continues to promote fitness, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among healthcare professionals.
In the Men’s Championship, the Dean’s Office Team – League Legends emerged victorious, clinching the title in a hard-fought final against Boom Boom Neuro, who finished as runners-up.
The women’s event featured a spirited Tiebreaker Tournament, where the Cardio Strikers triumphed and were crowned champions.
Adding prestige to the event, the tournament was graced by several distinguished guests, including: Bruno Coutinho, Arjuna Awardee and Director of Coaching, SAG Goa (Chief Guest), Eki Shukla, Accountant General, Goa, Akhil Kumar, Deputy Accountant General, Goa, Amit Kumar Mishra, IAS, Secretary of Health, Sadhana Bandekar, Former Chief Engineer, PWD Goa, Pranav Bhat, Joint Secretary, Finance & Health
A friendly exhibition match was also held between Team GMC and Team Secretariat, showcasing the spirit of unity and healthy competition. The Secretariat Team secured victory in this friendly encounter.
