Goa's Lenny D'Gama, who is the co-ordinator of Goa Boxing Association, has been awarded the Best International Technical Official honour in Asian boxing circuit. The ‘Best of the Asians 2017' awards have been declared by Asian Boxing Confederation ( ASBC). In all, 14 winners have been named in different categories. Lenny has contributed to the sport in various capacities in the last two decades. According to the ASBC website: "Lenny D'Gama is an experienced Indian International Technical Official who has been supporting the world's boxing life since decades. India's best ITO worked successfully in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa and also in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Boxing Championships in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. D'Gama celebrated his birthday during the ASBC Asian Confederation Women's Boxing Championships in Vietnam which was a lifetime experience for the Goa-based official."
Lenny secured 45.5% votes, followed by Dilshod Kazakov from Uzbekistan with 41.3% and Viktor Kim Kazakhstan with 5.5%
