Top state swimmers Jerry D'Mello, Sayed Zidane Iqbal, Shrungi Bandekar and Shoan Ganguly were crowned individual champions in their respective age-group categories, at the 13th all-India Late Smt Suhasini Ramesh Lotlikar Swimming Competition organised by Lotlikar & Co at Campal.
Mapusa Swimming Club clinched the team championship, while the runners-up position was bagged by Swimmers Club, Belgaum. Maitrani Bhosle, Mayuri Ungaraj, Cynthia Choudhury, Samar Killekar, Niranjani Borde, Sunidhi Halkare, Abhiman Shetty and Gatha Jain, all won individual championships in different categories. A total of 58 events were conducted in juniors, sub-juniors & toddlers categories. Mayor, Surendra Furtado was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Shweta Lotlikar, GSA secretary Sayed Abdul Majid, organiser of the swimming meet Rahul Lotlikar.
