Lourdes Convent High School, Saligao and St Anthony High School, Guirim secured big wins in the Bardez Taluka under-14 boys football tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Assonora sports complex, Assonora on Friday.
Lourdes Convent High School, Saligao defeated LD Samant Memorial High School, Porvorim 5-2. Crespo D'Souza scored a fine hat-trick while Pritesh Parsekar and Denzil Fernandez scored a goal each. LD samant Memorial High School Porvorim manged to score through the boots of Tarun Gaunder and A Natekar.
In the second match, Dnyanprassak Vidyalaya, Mapusa defeated Shri Vasant Vidyalaya 2-0. Swayam Naik continued with his fine form by scoring both the goals for the Mapusa school. In the next match of the day, Chubby cheeks Spring Valley High School, Porvorim defeated Government High School, Nadora 2-1. Ethan Pereira and Jeremy Fernandez scored for Porvorim School, while Jagannath Bagkar scored the lone goal for the
Nadora school.
In another match, St Ann's High School, Tivim defeated Mae De Deus High School, Corjuem by a 2-0 margin. Sankalp Kankonkar and Ashish Mishra scored the goals for the Tivim school. Meanwhile, St Anthony High School, Guirim thrashed Dona Leonar Memorial High School, Porvorim 8-0. Ryan Dias and Ashish Kanhat scored a brace each while Yashas Kolgoankar, Cristiano Gomes, Kenrich Menezes and James David scored the other goals for the Guirim School.
In the last match of the day, Holy Cross High School, Bastora defeated Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa 2-0. Vishal Butte and Deep Karapurkar were the scorers for the
Bastora school.
