Socio CC Loutolim defeated Betalbatim Sports club 6-5 goals via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of inagural 23rd Cortalim Villagers Cup football tournament organized by Cortalim Vilalgers Sports & Social Welfare Association at Cortalim on Friday, at Cortalim Church ground.
The tournament was kicked off by Fr Diogo Fernandes in presence of the President Antonio Vas.
In the first half, Betalbatim opened the account in the very 5th minute through Travis Barreto with a fine cross. Post resumption, Socio Club Loutolim tried their level best and succeeded in the last minute with a fine header from Walter Jacob.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Loutolim scored through Volney Vaz, Zico Rodrigues, Frazer Cardoz, Mark Fernandes, Jack Fernandes and Jillan Pinteiro while Betalbatim Sports Club netted through Glan Braganza, Rayan Fernandes, Francis Rodrigues, Travis Barreto and Anthony Rodrigues.
