Mandopa Sporting Club edged past St Anthony’s Colva 1-0 to qualify for the final of the All Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament at Seraulim Panchayat Ground. The tournament is organised by the United Sports Club of Seraulim in memory of Late Rev Fr Joe Gomes.
Ronaldo Pereira scored the decisive goal in the 57th minute with a headed finish. Colva created several chances but failed to convert. Selvin Gomes of Mandopa was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Gladston Vaz.

Santa Cruz Boys enter TYC Trophy final
MARGAO: Santa Cruz Boys Sirvodem advanced to the final of the TYC Trophy Football Tournament after defeating Dialgona Sports Club 5-4 in a tie-breaker at the Government Primary School ground, Telaulim. The tournament is being organised by the Telaulim Youth Club. The semifinal ended in a draw at the end of regulation time, forcing a penalty shootout, in which Sirvodem held their nerve to seal victory. Tanveer Balalkat of Santa Cruz Boys Sirvodem was named Man of the Match. The award was presented by Romeo Gomes, president of the United Club of Telaulim.

MTCA to organise Rangarajan Memorial chess
MARGAO: The Mormugao Taluka Chess Association (MTCA) will organise the Shri Rangarajan Memorial One-Day Rapid Chess Tournament for school students on February 8 at Regina Mundi School. The tournament is open exclusively to students from schools in Mormugao taluka and is being held in memory of Shri Rangarajan. As a special feature, games on the first two boards will be broadcast live on DGT boards to provide competitive exposure to participants.
