Youth Club of Manora finished their engagments on a winning note after they blanked Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao 2-0 in the Geno GFA First Division League at SAG Artificial Turf, Fatorda on Monday. Manora led 1-0 at the break.
Manora started the match as favourites against the Taleigao side and launched a series of attacks in the opening quarter. Haviing missed chances earlier, Manora broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when attacking midfielder Francis Andrade picked up the ball from Jaison Fernandes and scored a stunning goal past Taleigao goalkeeeper Edwin Rodrigues. Stung by the setback, Taleigao pressed hard and created a few scoring chances but the Manora defence managed to hold on to the lead.
Changing over, Youth Club of Manora looked better of the two sides as Francis Andrade played a pivotal role for his team, keeping his forwards busy with a stream of flawless passes. In the 60th minute, Joshua Fernandes scored with a clincial finish to make it 2-0.
With this win, Youth Club of Manora finished their engagments with 17 points from 13 matches while Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao stay with 6 points from 12 matches.
