In the MCL 11 T20 tournament, MCC Royals and MCC Thunders registered victories on Saturday. Matches are conducted on MCC ground Margao. In the afternoon session, the Royals defeated MCC Avengers by 9 runs in a thrilling contest. In the morning match, MCC Thunders beat MCC Masters by 4 wickets.
In the first match, Thunders successfully chased the target of 145 runs in 18.3 overs, comfortably overcoming the Masters.
Iftikhar Aga produced a brilliant bowling performance, taking 4/17, earning him the Player of the Match award.
Batting first, MCC Masters were bowled out for 144 runs. Dr. Sunny (38) played well for them. For the Thunders, Iftikhar Aga received good support from Sudesh Rane, Sudhir Shet, and Om Fadte.
For the Thunders, Dr. Pawan Rane (37), Om Fadte (37), and Sahil Adwalpalkar (28) played impactful knocks to guide the team to victory.
In the afternoon match, batting first, the Royals posted a competitive total of 174/6 in 20 overs. The Avengers fought well, scoring 165 runs in 19.4 overs, but fell short of the target. Venkatesh Nevagi scored 37 but ended on losing side.
Venkat Biche who scored 35 runs and took 2/11, delivering an all-round performance that earned him the Man of the Match award.
