Shailesh Misquin and Rego Baretto both scored fine hat-tricks as Milagres Sports Club came from behind to get the better of Cunchelim Football Club 8-2 in the Goa Football Association’s Third Division Football league match, at Duler Stadium, here, on Tuesday. At half time the score was 3-2, with Milagres taking the lead.
In the very 4th minute, Milagres took the lead through Shailesh Misquin who made it 1-0 for them. In the 12th minute, Cunchelim FC equalised through Omkar Sawant who received the ball and sent it home with much ease.
Milagres SC’s Rego Baretto came upfront and netted in a good cross made to him by Shailesh is the 23rd minute. Four minutes later, Cunchelim FC pulled back a goal again through a classy left footer by Omkar Sawant who drew the score, 2-2.
In the 32nd minute, Shailesh scored yet again and put Milagres SC ahead 3-2. Post resumption, both the teams played well with equal share of ball possession. In the 50th minute, Milagres SC went ahead, 4-2 through Rego Baretto who ran a distance and sent home the ball comfortably.
In the 53rd minute, Shailesh completed his hat-trick increasing the lead for Milagres to 5-2. At the one-hour mark, Rego joined the party by slashing home a quick brace to complete his hat-trick and minutes later, scored his fourth goal for the day.
In the 72nd minute, Stancer Furtado sent home a bolstering shot and further increased the misery of the rival team. Cunchelim FC tried hard but luck did not favour them as they conceded five goals in the second half of the game.
