Makermen Multi Creation Club of Goa (MMCCG) takes birth in Canacona to promote, conduct, develop and encourage various types of Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports and Games, besides encourage Social and Cultural activities.
MMCCG, registered under Societies Act and Sports Authority of Goa, will be formally launched, this coming Saturday at the hands of Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar in the presence of MP(South) Narendra Savoikar and SAG Executive Director V M Prabhudesai.
The State-level Club's official jersey was unveiled at the press-briefing on Monday in Canacona by the Founders Executive Committee led by Charter present Arun Bhat.
Addressing the media, Bhat flanked by Vice-President Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, Secretary Sunil S Paingankar and Treasurer Suryakant H Pai explained the aims and objectives of the club, which according to Bhat is registered under the Societies Act and with Sports Authority of Goa(SAG) with a membership of 50 people.
"Initially, the club activities’ will be limited to Taluka level, but soon it will be extended to other parts of Goa, and simultaneously membership will also be extended to like-minded people," Bhat
explained.
"Besides promoting various sports and games, women sports and traditional games will be given more thrust."
Vice-President Prabhugaonkar informed: "As a first activity of the club, a Canacona taluka level ‘Marathon Race’ will be organized for High-School Boys and Girls under the age of 17 years on Sunday (Oct 9). We have already sent invitations to various schools, and anticipate a minimum of 5 boys and 5 girls from each of the high-schools in the taluka."
"We have lots of unexplored talent and we will take it in our challenge to promote, conduct, develop and encourage various types of Olympic and non-Olympic sports and games, and also to promote, conduct develop and encourage social cultural activities," stated club secretary Paingankar.
"We will also hold shows, exhibitions, competitions, seminars, dramas, plays, musical concerts dance and strive to develop intellectual, physical, moral and spiritual values of the society and for the youth empowerment. There will also be seminars, trainings and workshops for promotion of sports, Yoga, adventure Games, Art, Craftsman’s, Self-help groups, weaker sections and empowerment of women and child," Bhat added.
