Jr Rod, a senior artiste of the Konkani tiatr stage, hasreleased his 15th audio album ‘Devacho Ugddas Yetolo’, an album of 12 Konkanisongs comprising of solos, duets and one trio. The album is recorded at MagicTouch Studios, Margao and has music scored by Babush. The lyrics for all thetracks are penned by Jr Rod and the album is produced by Manfa Music.
The title track ‘Devacho Ugddas Yetolo’ is rendered by JrRod, followed by 'Uzo Nastana Xeka’, a comedy duet by Felcy and Jr Rod. ‘DhoniaOxem Ghoddonk Diumnaka’, a solo by Jr Rod highlights the evil of abortion thatprevails in a particular region in China. A trio, ‘Zatali Nosai’ by Jr Rod,Felcy and Peter makes for excellent listening while ‘Atam Dukham GoddounRoddtai’, a solo by Albert Cabral conveys a philosophical message. ‘VailankanniSaibinn Maim Dita’, a solo by Jr Rod, talks about the devotion of Our Lady of Vailankanniat Nagapattinam.
Felcy combines with Jr Rod to render a lively duet, ‘AnnemMarun Loz Korinakai’, followed by another nice solo ‘Paicher Hat Ukli Naka’ byJr Rod. ‘Paicho Inam Bible’ is another thought provoking solo sung by Jr Rod.Felcy teams up with Jr Rod to render a duet ‘Utor Rakh’, sounding out cautionthat one should not go against one’s own word. ‘Padrink Dukhoinchem Nhoi’, asolo by Jr Rod enlightens one on the need for respect for the clergy. The albumends with a well composed Mando ‘Vetat Ami Resperak’ sung by Jr Rod and Felcy.Most of the songs in the album seem to be a running commentary on living a goodand moral life. The album is on sale at all leading music stores in Goa.
