Former Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco along with Kentucky restaurant owner Mathew Diniz called on the Colva police to find out how the police has registered a case against them without any evidence.

The duo later told the media that they have only asked the Colva police station in-charge to seek the video footage from the flying squad or the Returning Officer to justify that they were drinking at the Kentucky restaurant. Mickky warned that he would be forced to initiate appropriate action against the Returning officer, including initiating defamation proceedings, if he fails to prove that he and Mathew were drinking at the restaurant. “Let him prove as a government officer with evidence that we were drinking in the restaurant or outside in the parking lot. Let him show the footage,” he said, demanding that the Returning officer Gaude should resign as government officer and go home if he cannot prove the incident with evidence.

Saying that there was no incident where he or Mathew had obstructed the Returning officer from discharging his lawful duties, Mickky said the flying squad is equipped with a policemen as well as a cameraman. “Let him show that we were drinking. When we were seating outside in the parking lot, Mathew was discussing with the Returning officer. When I tried to intervene to find out what was happening, the Returning officer said he does not want to talk to me, after which I left the place,” Mickky said, while wondering how the flying squad or the Returning officer could lodge a false complaint that he and Mathew were drinking and of trying to obstruct the government servants.
