Goa reached 143 for five in reply to Chhattisgarh’s first-innings total of 330 on the second day of the Gujarat Cricket Association Under-23 multi-day practice match at Gujarat College Cricket Ground ‘A’ in Ahmedabad on Monday.
Goa still trails by 187 runs with only one day remaining in the match.
Resuming at 210 for four, Chhattisgarh added 120 runs before being bowled out for 330 in 96.2 overs. Shashwat Sharda (67) and opener Shobhit Sharma (68) scored half-centuries for Chhattisgarh.
Off-spinner Rudresh Sharma was Goa’s leading bowler, claiming four wickets for 118 runs, while left-arm spinner Anuj Yadav took three for 82. Rahul Vishwakarma and Fardin Khan picked up one wicket each.
Goa made a poor start, slipping to 13 for two. Aman Dhooper (30) and Dishank Prabhu Misquin (33) then steadied the innings with a 53-run partnership for the third wicket.
Goa captain Aryan Narvekar remained unbeaten on 53 at the close. He faced 77 balls and hit five fours and two sixes.
Chhattisgarh left-arm spinner Manraj Singh Dhillon claimed all five Goa wickets to fall.
