Nerul Sports Club down Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda 5-4 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of the Bro Eulalio Vaz Memorial football tournament, organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at DBO ground, Fatorda, on Monday.
In an exciting quarter finals, Nerul's Prajoyt Mandrekar missed the first chance to score in the 10th minute while Paroda missed two goals scoring chances in the 18th and 25th minutes through Salwin and Jaison respectively.
In the second half, Steve Menezes of Paroda had a golden opportunity to take the lead for his team but shot out of the frame. Nerul also created many chances through Aniket, Anand and Mahadev couldn't hit the target.
In the tie-breaker, Nerul SC scored through Aniket, Nikhil, Mahadev, Aniket Naik and Sainath while Anthony, Omkar, Gladson and Parvesh were on target for Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda.
Diago Furtado of Don Bosco oratory Fatorda member presented the man of the match award to Nerul SC's Deu Sangodkar was awarded the man of the match by DBO member Diago Furtado. Nerul SC will now meet Chandor Club in the semi-finals.
