Ambelim Sports Club and Ponda Footballers will face off in the final of the GFA Futsal Club Championship at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Navelim on Sunday. Both teams are making their debut in the tournament this season, ensuring a new champion will be crowned.
In the first semifinal, Ambelim dominated Verna with a commanding 7-1 victory. Fredsan Marshal was the standout player, scoring a hat-trick. The scoring began in the 4th minute as Fredsan found the back of the net, and he doubled the lead in the 11th minute. By the 17th minute, he completed his hat-trick.
Ambelim led 3-1 at halftime and continued their dominance with Ronaldo Pereira scoring twice in the 31st and 36th minutes. Velon Rebello and Savan Lotlikar also added their names to the scoresheet. Milroy Fernandes scored a consolation goal for Verna.
In the second semifinal, Ponda Footballers triumphed over United Club of Verna 4-3 after a 2-2 draw at full time.
