Fr Agnel Youth Club, Paroda, registered a convincing 2-0 victory over Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club to move into the next round of the 47th St Joseph Festival Inter-Village Football Tournament 2026, held at the Dramapur Football Ground.
Paroda dominated from the start, with striker Godwin Fernandes putting his side ahead in the 14th minute with a clinical finish. Areal tried to fight back, but Paroda’s defence held firm.
In the second half, Fedrich Fernandes doubled Paroda’s lead in the 40th minute to seal a 2-0 victory.
Godwin Fernandes, who scored the opener and led the attack, was adjudged the Player of the Match. The award was presented by Patrick D’Costa, organising treasurer.
