Guardian Angel Sports Club recorded their second win in a row with a narrow 1-0 victory over Vasco Sports Club in the GFA Goa Professional League, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Sunday.
Guardian Angel scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute through Frank Adusei. With this win, Guardian Angel SC moved to six points from 10 games while Vasco SC stayed rooted with three points, however, having played just seven matches.
It was a high-octane clash which saw both sides get physical throughout the game. The game saw the referee Tejas Nagvekar flash eight yellow cards and one red. Vasco SC’s Suman Lepcha received two yellow in the 73rd and 74th minutes, reducing the Port Towners to 10 men.
Guardian Angel’s Adusei received the Player of the match award for his match-winning goal. The award was presented by GFA Executive Committee member Andrew Ferrao.
