The Goa Football Association's (GFA) Profession League will kick-off on August 23 with Tuff Laxmi Prasad SC clashing with new entrants Guardian Angel SC at Duler Stadium, Mapusa at 4pm.
Curtorim Gymkhana, who have earned a maiden promotion into the Pro-League, will be seen in action along side other bigwigs of Goan football. They along with Guardian Angel are new Pro-League entrants this season.
At the GFA executive committee meeting held today in Panaji at the association's headquarters, it was resolved to conduct the annual general meeting (AGM) on Sunday, July 26 at Hotel Fidalgo here at 10am.
The meeting which was chaired by GFA President Elvis Gomes also decided on paying travel allowances to referees who are not from their home zones and have to commute outside their zones to officiate GFA matches. As per the decisions taken, a referee officiating in the professional league will be paid Rs 500 per match while those assigned duties for 1st Division will get paid Rs 350. Referees for second division and other games will be paid Rs 300 and for inter-village it will be Rs 400. The committee also approved the budget for the 2015-16 season and also decided to conduct the season-opener Charity match at Duler stadium. Among other decisions, the Taca Goa U-20 tournament will be played at Duler Stadium with Salgaocar FC facing Curtorim Gymkhana in the opening match.
