Parish Youth Nuvem edged past Chandor Club 2-1 in a closely fought encounter in the second match of the 2nd Mansion House Football Cup 2026 at the Cuncolim Government School Ground on Sunday.
Both sides showed attacking intent from the outset, with Chandor creating the first opening in the sixth minute. Glenn Fernandes broke forward, but the Nuvem goalkeeper was quick off his line to snuff out the danger.
Nuvem gradually took control and came close through Inacio Colaco and Albino Pereira, who both missed the target. Their pressure finally paid off in the 19th minute when Pereira unleashed a powerful effort that struck the post before finding the net to give Nuvem the lead.
Chandor responded immediately, with Fernandes restoring parity just a minute later.
Nuvem continued to press and regained the advantage in the 29th minute. Francis Colaco produced a fine finish to make it 2-1. Chandor nearly levelled before the break, but Fitzroy Gomes shot wide.
The second half saw Chandor push hard for an equaliser, while Nuvem defended resolutely. Rivaldo Cardozo and Mackleen Carvalho created moments of danger for Chandor, but the Nuvem defence held firm.
Chandor came closest in the closing stages when Laximan Gaonkar narrowly missed the target, allowing Nuvem to hold on for victory.
Pereira was named Man of the Match for his attacking display and opening goal. He received the award from Cuncolim Union organising chairman Shrikant Dessai.
