MARGAO
The inaugural RAF’s Run for Unity 2026, organised by the Rosary Alumni Family (RAF) at Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, drew around 1,000 participants from across Goa, turning the event into a celebration of fitness, unity and inclusiveness.
Held as a Goa-domicile event under the theme “One Goa. One Heart. One Run,” the run brought together people from different walks of life, with participants sporting specially designed event jerseys featuring the Run for Unity logo.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by Dronacharya Awardee Armando Colaco, Siddesh Bhagat, Rev Fr Gabriel Coutinho, Parish Priest of Rosary Church, RAF chairman Prof Helic Barreto, SP Sagar Ekoskar, Regional Head of Union Bank of India Faiyan Shaikh and Tiger Dada Crane, among others.
In the 10km men’s category, Hari Velip won the title, followed by Udesh Maj and Anup Raj Ghale. Prashila Deikar emerged winner in the women’s category, with Neha Velip second and Swaroopa Redkar third.
Aloyd Fernandes won the 5km men’s race, ahead of Anmol George and Mevilton C Fernandes, while Fatima Braganza topped the women’s category. Amanda Maria Dias finished second and Shreeja Naik third.
All winners in the 10km and 5km categories received FC Goa jerseys, cash prizes and trophies. The jerseys were presented by former Rosary College student Siddesh Bhagat in the presence of RAF president Sidharth Mehta and convenor Dr Zamila Pacheco. FC Goa was the Official Outreach Partner of the event.
