MARGAO: Raia Sporting Club secured a place in the semi-finals of the 47th St Joseph Festival Inter-Village Football Tournament 2026 after defeating CAC Cansaulim 3-2 in the third quarter-final at Dramapur Football Ground.
CAC Cansaulim took the lead through Jeremy Barretto in the 14th minute, but Raia Sporting responded with two goals from Sidney Gauncar (26th, 39th) to go into the break with a 2-1 lead.
CAC fought back immediately after the restart, with Aloysius Mesquita equalising in the 46th minute. Raia Sporting, however, regained the lead four minutes later through Swedon Barbosa, whose 50th-minute strike proved decisive.
Sidney Gauncar was named Player of the Match. The award was presented by GFA executive Andrew Ferrao.
