Rosary College crowned Goa University women’s football champions

Rosary College, Navelim, were crowned champions of the Goa University Women’s Inter-Collegiate Football Championship after thrashing Don Bosco College, Panaji, 6-1 in the final played at the Rosary Church ground, Navelim, on Monday.

Fatima Braganza starred for the champions with a brace, while Ria Pinto, Vinoska Fernandes, Amanda Dias and Ria Rajesh scored a goal each for Rosary College.

Simran Narvekar scored a consolation goal for Don Bosco College, Panaji.

Prof. Teotone Vaz of Don Bosco College, Panjim, was the chief guest and presented the prizes to the winners and runners-up. He was accompanied by Rosary College principal Helick Baretto, Milton Fernandes, football coach Colin Vaz, Dr Francisco Lobo and other dignitaries.

Rosary College’s Fatima Braganza was adjudged the Highest Scorer of the Tournament.
