Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna won against St Rock YC Calata Majorda 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Festival Cup 2023 organized by Betalbatim Sporting Club.
In the match played at Betalbatim Panchayat Ground on Friday, Rossman took the lead in the 26th minute with a goal from Hilton Fernandes. However, Beevan De Mello equalized for St Rock Majorda in the 36th minute. In the second half, Rossman Cruz scored two more goals through Clugton and Hilton in the 52nd and 56th minutes respectively to advance to the last eight.
FC Goa's Brison among India probable
FC Goa midfielder Brison Fernandes is among the 28 probables for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qatar Qualifiers, listed by the All India Football Federation. The AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 Qualifiers, to be held from September 6-12 in Dalian, China, will also serve as qualifiers for the men's Olympic football tournament in Paris next year.
PANAJI: The U-17 boys' table tennis team of Rosary High School, Cujira won the inter-school State-level table tennis tournament organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs. The team consisted of Aaron Farias, Akshan Lawande, Adeetya Bora, Swapnil Dhyani, and Grason Loitongbam.
Guardian Angel High School defeated Holy Cross Institute Quepem 15-21, 21-11, 21-15 in the U-17 sepak takraw tournament for boys organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs.
