Salgaocar Football Club have started the hunt for a new coach with Derrick Pereira parting ways with the Club following the expiry of his contract.
Salgaocar FC did exceedingly well during the time the former India defender spent at the club. But now the coach has decided to move on. Speaking on the sidelines of the FIFA Elite course at Chowgule College Auditorium, Margao on Monday, Pereira said that he is departing in an amicable manner.

Pereira spent two years with Salgaocar FC. The former Pune FC coach helped the club to win the Durand Cup. Salgaocar FC won the Pro League title last season but the performance of the club in the I-League was disappointing. Salgaocar FC finished seventh and avoided the drop.
"I have fantastic memories of the club both as player and as a coach. Even today, I am in touch with the players and they continue to mean a lot to me," Pereira said. "My relationship with the players and management continues to be as strong as ever. I wish them good luck for the future," said Pereira.
The former Mahindra United Coach said he has offers in hand. "I am not in any hurry. I am patient at the moment. There are a couple of opportunities but I want to see what 's best for me," he said.
