Saligao Sporting club trounced Parish Youth Sports club by 5-2 margin to advance into the quarters of the Milagres Soccer Cup 2018, organized by Milagres sports club, played at Duler stadium, here on Tuesday.
Saligao Sporting started brightly against the defending champions and went into the breather leading by three goals. In the very 5th minute Craig Menezes opened the account for Saligao Sporting where he scored with an adroit placement, 1-0.
Vagator colts did manage to hold their rivals till the 23rd minute, where Ajay Diwadkar getting hold of a ball just outside the penalty box, darted inside and slammed the ball past the rival Vagator keeper, 2-0. Just seven minutes later and Saligao side netted in their third goal through Michael Dias who gave finishing touches to Ajay Diwadkar’s cross, 3-0. On crossing over Vagator did manage to get back into the match with James Fernandes and Lester Albuquerque pumping in two goals.
However in the last ten minutes of the match and Saligao hammered two more goals through Sachin Satelkar and Allen Gonsalves to take the score tally to 5-2. On 20th June, Calangute Association will take on Augustias SC.
