Rio-bound Indian wrestlers, Sandeep Tomar and Narsingh Yadav won silver and bronze medals in the 74kg and 57kg events respectively at the Spanish Grand Prix Wrestling championship in Madrid on Saturday.
In the 74kg category, Livan Lopez of Cuba and Zelimkhan Khadjiev of France won the gold and silver medal respectively, while Purevjav Unurbat of Mongolia also won the bronze apart from Narsingh. Narsingh beat Canada's Jasmit Phulka 7-0 in the first round and then lost to Lopez in second round but then got a repechage as the Cuban reached the final.
In the 57kg category, Erdenebat Bekhbayar of Mongolia won the gold and Darthe Capellan of Canada and Levan Metreveli of Spain won the bronze medals. However, London Olympics bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt failed to impress and returned empty handed after losing 2-8 to Cuba's Yowlys Bonne, who won the bronze medal, in the 65kg category.
