14-year-old Sankalp Naik did the star turn with 3-36 in Mahalakshmi Cricket Club's brilliant seven-wicket victory over Akbar Sports Club in the Tiswadi 'B' Division League cricket tournament organised by the Goa Cricket Association. The match was held at Panjim Gymkhana's Bandodkar Cricket Ground.
Batting first, Akbar Sports Club scored 162 all out. Sunil Pal top-scored for them with 60. Impressive teen Sankalp Naik grabbed three wickets, while Devdutt Chodankar (4-15) and Sunil Redkar (3-22) were the other stars with the ball. Mahalaxmi CC overhauled the target with ease as Utsav Koti scored an unbeaten 57. Brief scores: Akbar Sports Club, 162 all out in 27.2 overs (Sushant Gaonkar 19, Sunil Pal 60, Paresh Naik 15, Sarvesh Gawde 18; Devdutt Chodankar 4-15, Sudin Redkar 3-22, Sankalp Naik 3-36) beat Mahalaxmi Cricket Club, 163 for 3 in 20.2 overs (Tek Bahadur 34, Utsav Koti 57 not out, Prajesh Parab 32; Shankar Gaonkar, Chetan Sawant and Sushant Govekar one wicket each) by seven wickets.
