Maruti Cricket Club emerged victorious by eight runs in a thrilling match against Young Stars of Moula in the 43rd Nanda Lolayekar Trophy at Nirakar Maidan in Dapot Mashem. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Maruti CC posted 169 all out in 32.2 overs. Omkar Bhandkari top-scored with 48 runs off 48 balls, supported well by Infancia Correia, who contributed 41 runs from 35 balls. Despite a strong start, Maruti's batting was held back by the disciplined bowling of Young Stars’ Yogesh Naik and Pritesh Naik, who claimed three wickets each. Naik finished with figures of 3-25, while Pritesh took 3-29.
In response, Young Stars of Moula fought hard but fell short, finishing with 161 all out in 32.5 overs. Hitesh Talwar was the standout performer for Moula, cracking an impressive 58 runs from 35 balls. Yash Gadekar also contributed 42 runs off 39 balls.
However, Maruti CC's bowlers, led by Sahil Mandrekar and Shivram Mishra, kept their side in the hunt. Mandrekar and Mishra claimed three wickets each, with Mandrekar finishing with 3-7 and Mishra taking 3-18, ensuring a narrow win for their team.
