Nevilla Colaco scored a brace for the SOWS while Divya Sangodkar pulled one back for the Flaming Oranje. SCCC Sows attacked from the word go and created two potent chances in the first five minutes. It was no surprise as they opened the scoring through Nevilla in the 5th minute with a fine header in the back of the nets.
The Oranje girls continued to face potent chances from the opponents through their striker Jelinda Ferrao and Sushmita Jadhav and the latter came close to scoring in the 15th minute but was denied by the Flaming keeper. The game was restricted to midfield play as both the teams displayed good passing. But it was the Cavelossim team that displayed good runs into the box. Sows could have added a few more to their tally but it was a stellar performance from the Flaming keeper Ashika Gadekar who came out with numerous diving saves.
In the last minutes of the first half, Nevilla tipped the ball over to Sushmita who ran in from midfield and was in a one on one situation with just the keeper to beat but found her strike go a whisker away from the post. On the other side, Clency Miranda's shot off a corner was away from target.
Moving over, SOWS dominated possession with good passing. Substitute Namita Govekar came in and was quick with the ball as she created quick runs into the box but failed to convert. The Flaming keeper came up with a sliding save in the 55th minute and denied the SOWS a goal. Two minutes later, Namita came close to scoring twice but found her shot saved by Oranje defender Royena Fernandes and later saw her attempt go inches away from the post. The second session saw a lot of chances created by the SOWS and they doubled their lead through Nevilla. Divya Sangodkar tried her luck from outside the box and was successful in pulling one goal back for the Flaming Oranje but the game eventually ended in favour of the Cavelossim side.
In the first semi-final of the day, Panjim Dolphins edged past Albert's Princesses with a narrow 1-0 win. The all-important goal was scored by the star player of the tournament Karishma Shirvoikar in the 55th minute.
The skipper of the capital side Michel Castanha played an instrumental part in the central area with excellent crosses to her team-mates. For Albert's Princesses, Marlat Cardozo and Wilma Vaz tried hard to find the equaliser but they were denied by the strong Panjim backline.
