A fine brace by Sezwin D'Costa helped Immaculate Conception Sports Club (ICSC) Paroda thrash Wilred Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim 4-0 to storm into the quarter-finals of All Goa Late Jose Bento Memorial Trophy football tournament at Rosary ground, Navelim on Monday.
ICSC were the overwhelmingly the dominant side and the Paroda team broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Maizon D'Costa beat the rival goalkeeper with a rasping shot. Spurred by the early success, the Paroda team doubled the lead in the 25th minute when Sezwin D'Costa punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish. In the 28th minute, Fwaton Fernandes inflated the tally when he beat his marker and punted the ball to the far corner of the net.
Crossing over, Sezwin D'Costa struck a second time to register his brace at
the fag end.
