PANAJI: Shaurya Dessai, seeded three, will take on second seed Vanlalhriatpuii in the Girls' Under-11 final, while top seed Claire George will face Ronisha Sakhardande in the Girls' Under-9 title clash at the 6th Naguesh and Sushila Verenkar Memorial Table Tennis Ranking Tournament, organised by Chandor Club under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association at the Chandor Club Multipurpose Hall.
In the U-11 semi-finals, Shaurya Dessai caused a major upset in a 3-1 win over top seed Anaya Shukla, while Vanlalhriatpuii outclassed Tvisha Kotkar 3-0. In the U-9 semi-finals, Claire George cruised past Taisha Mehta 3-0 while Ronisha Sakhardande produced a spirited comeback to upset third seed Swara Gude 3-2.
Earlier, in the Girls' Under-11 quarter-finals, Anaya Shukla defeated Sanaz Shaikh 3-0, Shaurya Dessai overcame Claire George 3-0, Tvisha Kotkar edged past Swara Gude 3-2 in a closely contested encounter, and second seed Vanlalhriatpuii defeated Ronisha Sakhardande 3-0 to complete the semi-final lineup.
