Shiroda BJP MLA Shubhash Shirodkar on Monday afternoon said that he was confident of the BJP victory in the upcoming State Assembly elections.
Shirodkar, speaking to reporters after an educational function in Ravindra Bhavan Baina, said that the list of the BJP candidates would be announced soon.
"We hear that the code of conduct would be implemented by around 4th or 5th of January after which the candidates could be announced. It is easy to make promises but if the parties don't come to power, they will go back to Delhi or West Bengal," Shirodkar said.
"All this while, if a regional party could not achieve the 22 plus mark, can parties like TMC or AAP achieve such a benchmark with or without alliance? There cannot be a miracle overnight that these parties will achieve the majority mark and these parties are bound to go back to their states and finally it is the BJP only who will be here for the people. The assurance is all fake and an election gimmick and an attempt to misguide Goans but the Goans are not fools to fall prey to such tactics," said Shirodkar.
"I will contest the elections on a BJP ticket and I am a loyal soldier of the party and I like the principles, ideology and discipline in the party. BJP is also good at delivering promises and has been offering good development coupled with financial schemes to Goans.
"The other parties must realise that BJP has the highest candidates that can emerge victoriously and while the picture looks different, the ground reality is totally different. This is my tenth election and I have won 7 out of 10 elections and we can see the picture clearly that BJP will win the election for sure. I am also confident that based on my work, rapport and connection with the people, the people will get me re-elected this time," said Shirodkar.
