Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science, Margao were crowned the State Chess Champions at the All Goa Inter Higher Secondary Chess Competition organised by Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Panaji.
The Chess team captained by Rishubh Naresh Naik and comprising of Tatvesh Ramdas Sawant, Shaunak Kakodkar, Ambar Dalal and Tanad Bandodkar was guided by the PE teacher Arun Faldessai and Principal R K Dessai.
The finals were played between Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science, Margao and SS Samiti’s Higher Secondary School, Kavale-Ponda.
In the earlier rounds, at the Zonal level which were played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Fatorda, Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science, Margao emerged as winners against AJ De Almeida Higher Secondary School, Ponda and Deepvihar Higher Secondary School, Vasco.
