Sidheshwar Sports Club of Barcem lifted the winners’ trophy at the 21st All Goa kabaddi tournament held at Barcem, Quepem by crushing Jai Hanuman Group from Dharbandora with their superb tactics and efficient gameplay in front of a crowd of over 400 people in a day and night tournament.
Twenty-five sports groups from various parts of Goa participated in the tournament organised by Sidheshwar Sports Club at Barcem sports
ground.
The winners, Sidheshwar Sports Club, were presented with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 along with the championship trophy, whereas the runners-up Jai Hanuman Group were awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with a trophy.
Devidas Velip and Kishant Gaonkar of Sidheshwar Sports Club were declared as the best raider and best defender respectively whereas Nagraj Gadekar of Jai Hanuman Group was declared as the best player and Rama Gaonkar of Sidheshwar Sports Club was declared as Man of the tournament.
The prizes for the winners were presented by the leader of opposition and Quepem MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar. The other dignitaries present for the prize distribution were President of Sidheshwar Sports Club, Sandesh Velip, Sanjay Velip, Satish Gaonkar, Bhamtu Velip and the owner of the sports ground,
Khushali Velip.
