Six franchises will battle it out on the pitch to win the second edition of the Panjim Gymkhana Members League 2.0 (PGML 2.0), a one-of-a-kind T20 cricket tournament.
The league is set to return for a second season and 148 players have registered to go under the auctioneer's hammer this weekend as the six teams go into the player auction and build a team for the league ahead. The six teams are Manas Mavericks, Baale Tigers, Prescon Panthers, Dempo Challengers, Priority Titans and RC Goa. Priority Titans and RC Goa are new entrants.
The league is scheduled to kick off in the second week of January, 2023 and the matches will be held largely over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Prescon Panthers bagged the PGML title last year.
"The first edition of PGML was a massive success where we attempted to form a T20 league exclusively for Goan teams and players. In the second edition, PGML 2.0 promises to be bigger and better. Panjim Gymkhana has introduced this innovative format and concept, which will help budding cricketers in Goa to flourish and be visible," said Manoj Caculo, President, Panjim Gymkhana.
