Varca Sports Club prevailed over CAC Cansaulim 3-2-via tiebreaker to move into the second round of Carmona Village Panchayat Cup played at Carmona Panchayat ground.
Both the teams played well but their strikers let them down. Varca played an attacking game in the second half but Cansaulim goalkeeper stood firm to take the match into tiebreaker. In the shootout, Varca scored through Joylen, Aron Colomban and Costancio, while only Elvino and Aaron managed to score for CAC Cansaulim. On Thursday, hosts Carmona SC will meet Ambelim SC at 4.30 pm.
SAI Veterans sink Joe Cookies with late strike
SAI Veterans registered a 1-0 win over Joe Cookies Veterans to book their place in the finals of the Batora United Veterans football tournament played at St Alex Church ground on Wednesday. After a well-fought first half, SAI Veterans scored the match winner in the second half through Sailash in the 85th minute of the game.
Goan NSS team for Pre-Republic Day Parade
Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs has deputed NSS volunteers for West Zone Pre-Republic Day Parade to Gujarat. The team will leave Goa on Nov 18. It consists of five boys and five girls and a programme officer.
