Snows FA blank Macasana, Velsao held by Siddeshwar

Snows FA blanked Macasana WC 4-0 in the GFA Air Arabia U-18 league at Curtorim ground on Wednesday. In another match, Siddeshwar Sports Club came from behind to hold Velsao Sports and Cultural Club 3-3.

Snows FA started attacking from the word go and managed to find the breakthrough in the 3rd minute itself as Max Colaco slotted the ball past the rival goalkeeper to make it 1-0. Macasana tried to make a comeback into the game trying their level best to make it all square, however, Snows FA surged ahead yet again in the 22nd minute through Josico Fernandes.

Snows then went on to score their third goal of the match in the 30th minute through Cliford Gomes.

Post resumption, Irfan Yadwad drove the final nail into the coffin in the 43rd minute to take the game away from the Macasana side. 

Meanwhile at SAG Artificial Turf ground, Fatorda; Siddeshwar Sports Club rallied to hold Velsao Sports and Cultural Club 3-3 in Group B. Velsao started the game on a positive note and forged ahead in the 4th minute through Ronaldo  Coelho. However, their joy was short-lived as in the 17th minute,  Devesh cancelled the lead with a stiff shot . The equaliser boosted the morale of Siddeshwar Sports Club and in the 24th minute, Sanket regained the lead for his side with a stiff shot.

The second half turned livelier with both the teams showing urgency. Ronaldo Coelho, who was in the thick of the action, neutralised the lead with a stiff grounder in the 50th minute  to register his brace. With time running out, Sanket  spoiled the rivals’ party when he restored parity for Siddeshwar Sports Club and also register his brace in the 64th minute.

Earlier, Goa Velha and Amaravati Sports Club were  involved in a goalless draw.
