Sporting Club of Davorlim thrashed United Club of Benaulim 3-0 to storm into the quarter-finals of the All-Goa Rising Cup 2018 inter-village football tournament
organized by Santa Cruz Club of Poitomado in
association with Rising Club of Sanvorcotto at Government School Play Ground, Cuncolim on Friday.
Sporting Club of Davorlim led 1-0 at the breather. Sporting Club of Davorlim were
meticulous in their approach and their forwards were
relentless in attack.
A goal came in the 11th minute through Mabel Miranda.
On the other hand, United Club of Benaulim
tried their best to come
back into the game but
didn’t not pack enough
punch to find the equalizer.
Sporting Club of Davorlim had couple of scoring
chances but their forwards misfired from close range.
Post resumption, Sporting Club of Davorlim continued to enjoy the better share of exchanges.
They doubled the lead
in the 56th minute when
Vellington Silva’s header rolled into the net, thanks to Swisforn Silva’s goalkeeping lapse.
In the dying minutes, Substitute Robinson Colaco fired home a neat finish.
Mabel Miranda of Sporting Club of Davorlim was
adjudged Man of the match.
