The three-day meet of ‘Directors of Competition’, convened by the National Games Organising Committee, commenced with briefing sessions at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee multipurpose stadium at Taleigao Plateau on Wednesday.
Sports Secretary Ashok J. Kumar (IAS), Sports Authority of Goa Executive Director V M Prabhudesai and members of Games Technical Conduct Committee - Mukesh Kumar (Chairman), S M Bali and Dhanraj Choudary addressed the meeting.
Competition Director of boxing, hockey, billiards and snooker, fencing, weightlifting, table tennis, badminton, baseball, aquatics, triathlon, rugby and judo attended the meeting along with nodal officers appointed by State Sports Associations.
In the morning session, the Competition Directors were briefed about venue plans, requirement of sports equipment, TSR (Timings, Scoring and Results) and competition management. That was followed by venue inspection visits to Campal-Panaji and Sawalwada-Pernem. In the afternoon session, reports on various requirements and specifications were obtained from the Competition Directors and interactions held.
