Sporting Clube de Goa edged past Panjim Footballers 1-0 in the Goa Football Association's TACA Goa U-20 Division One League match played at Don Bosco ground Panaji, on Tuesday. Alston Camotio (33') scored the solitary goal for the winners.
The teams restricted the play to midfield during the first half as they cancelled out each other's attacking moves to guard their respective citadels. Panjim Footballers showed persistence and tried their best to score first but missed a couple of chances.
At the other end, Sporting Clube managed to break the Panjim Footballers' defence in the 33rd minute as Alston Camotio scored the only goal of the match to give his team full points.
Post resumption, Panjim Footballers tried to get back in the game but their strikers faltered. The goalscorer Alston picked a yellow card in the 79th minute while Panjim Footballers' Danish Ahmed received a caution in the 84th minute for a
reckless tackle.
