St Anthony Assolda blanked United Club Verna 2-0 to move into the semifinals of the Mount Carmel Trophy, organised by Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel, Telaulim, in association with Carmel Sports Club, at Rosary Church Ground, Navelim, on Thursday.

Both teams were locked in a 0-0 draw at half-time.

Imson Fernandes scored the first goal for Assolda in the 52nd minute with a neat placement, while Adriano Gomes doubled the lead in the 59th minute off an assist from Imson as the match ended 2-0 in favour of Assolda.

The next match will be played on May 4, 2026, between Wilred Leisure Curtorim and Canacona SCC.

Veteran football fan Caitano Dias presented the player of the match award to Imson Fernandes of Assolda for his outstanding performance.
