Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte will inaugurate the 35th consecutive Summer Coaching Camp at Dona Leonor School, Porvorim, with former Ranji player Sudin Kamat as guest of honour.
MCA has organised these camps for years, teaching cricket basics to nearly 3,500 trainees. This year marks its first camp in North Goa. Children from North Goa have been invited to train under qualified coaches Hemant Angle, the only ICC Level 3 coach, and Ambey Parwatkar, UAE international and ACB Level 2 coach.
The camp will run from May 1 to May 17, from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Boys above six years can join on payment of Rs 600, while girls will be admitted free. Promising boys will be inducted into the academy for further free training after the camp until the monsoon and again next season.
Meanwhile, the 34th Summer Camp in Margao will be held from May 1 to May 16, from 7 am to 9 am.Forms are available with the school security and can be submitted at the ground.
