St Joseph’s High School, Arpora bagged the honours at the State level Under-14 boxing championship recently.
Akash Lamani, Izaruddin S K and Rohan Salgaonkar won gold medals while Rakesh and Sohil Sheikh won a silver and bronze medal respectively.
In Under-17 boys, Ashok Patil won gold, while Shashi Pilankar and Krishna Bugde won silver and bronz medals respectively. In Under-17 girls category, Jina Dum Dum and Akansha Pawan won silver while Judith Sales bagged a bronze medal. The school won a total of 11 medals in different age groups.
The team was coached by Vishwanath Govekar (SAG coach), with Physical Education teacher Amarnath Kolwalkar guiding them. Headmistress of the school, Lona da Silva and Manager Fr Urbano Menezes congratulated the team for their stellar performance in the tournament.
