St Rock's Majorda got the better of a fighting Cortalim Villagers 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 24th Cortalim Villagers Cup Football Tournament organised by Cortalim Villagers and Social Welfare Association played at Cortalim Church grounds on Tuesday. Cortalim dominated and almost scored in the 25th minute through Elson Rodrigues. But a good save by the Majorda kepper denied them a goal. In the 27th minute, Majorda took the lead through Ismial Pathan. In the second half Cortalim Villagers could have equalized through Elson in the 37th minute but the Majorda goalkepper thwarted the shot at the expense of a corner.As Cortalim kepper came out of his charge, substitute Micheal Souza made no mistake in ensuring that the score was 2-0 in favour of St Rock's.
