Taramati Candolkar Memorial Goa State U-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship-cum-Selection tournament got underway at Mahalaxmi Vachan Mandir hall, Mala here today. The competition is being organised by Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association under the auspices of Goa Chess Association. Ikra Sarfaraz, Sayyed Maizah, Vaishnavi Parab, Saeeja Dessai and Sequeira Jennica are all tied on two points at the end of second round in the girls category.
After two rounds of play in the Open category, Arush Salgaonkar, Rishik Patnekar, Keegan Gonsalves, Erwin Albuquerque, Ethan Vaz, Sarang Pagi and Sanjay Siddharth, are all in joint-lead with two points each.
