Goa will participate with a strong contingent of 57 athletes across six disciplines at the 2nd edition of Khelo India Youth Games to be held at the Balewadi Sports complex, Pune from January 9 to 20. Goa will participate in athletics, boxing, judo, shooting, swimming and football.
In the first edition of the Games, Goa had qualified and participated in five disciplines, athletics, badminton, boxing, swimming, judo, winning eight medals overall -- one gold, four silver, and three bronze.
This time there are a lot expectations from the fancied football team, which will participate for the very time.
The Goa contingent was handed over the kits/sports material by SAG Executive Director VM Prabhudesai and Satyawan Talwedkar, SAG Joint Director (Accounts/Director Administration).
