Among the various activities conducted by the TAG from thetime of its inception in 2009, is conducting workshops to impart training invarious aspects of the tiatr including acting, direction etc. One such schemeintroduced by the TAG is ‘Promotion of Tiatr through Academic Activities’.
In the past the TAG has been instrumental in conductingseveral workshops for students from schools, higher secondary schools andcolleges across Goa imparting them training in tiatr related topics. But theTAG received a fillip for the good work that they are doing when the Our Ladyof Perpetual Succour High School Cortalim, in Mormugao Taluka, requested themto organise a day’s workshop on tiatr for the teachers and staff. 31enthusiastic participants took part in the day’s workshop that evoked a goodresponse. This was first such workshop where the participants were teachers andthe non-teaching staff. The workshop was held recently wherein TomazinhoCardozo, former President of TAG, Joe Rose Vice president of TAG and ShantaramPawar were the resource persons. They, in turn, shared their knowledge in thefield of tiatr, and highlighted the various aspects of tiatr, including itshistory, scripts, lyrics, acting techniques and stage familiarity.
The workshop was inaugurated by Joe Rose Vice President ofthe TAG in presence of the other dignitaries. Shri Tomazinho Cardozo theresource person and former President of TAG emphasised the need to impart theknowledge of tiatr among the student community, which he said could help inbringing about all round development of the students. The President of the TAG,Prince Jacob, promised all assistance to the school authorities to stage atiatr produced by the institution. He was pleased that the School authoritiesrequested for such a training workshop especially for their teachers andnon-teaching staff.
