VALPOI
Team Foxis emerged as the champions of the 2026 Guleli Champions Trophy, with Balshar Club finishing as runners-up. The three-day cricket tournament was held at Guleli village recently and was organized by Shantadurga Yuva Sanstha, Guleli.
The event welcomed teams from across the Valpoi and Poriem constituencies and received special support from Valpoi MLA and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Poriem MLA Dr. Deviya Rane.
A total of ten teams competed in the tournament: V2 Warriors, MM Stars, BSC Maloli, Dazzling Stars, Royal King, Power Rangers, Siddu Warriors, Naik Brothers, Balshar Club, and Team Foxis. The final saw Team Foxis take on Balshar Club, who had both topped their respective groups in the points table. In an exciting contest, Team Foxis defeated Balshar Club by eight wickets to claim the championship, while Balshar Club finished as worthy runners-up.
Among the attendees were Guleli Sarpanch Nitesh Gawde, umpire Akshita Gawde, management committee members Anil Gawde, Pritesh Desai, Vijaysingh Sawant, Rajendra Gawde, Shekhar Gawde, Manohar Gawde, and Sunil Naik, along with umpires Siddu Gavkar, Vishant Nabar, Jaysing Desai, Pradeep Desai, other members of the Desai family, and several dignitaries.
